Your premium updates arrive through the 99Plugs Update Manager. Install it once, enter your update keys, and new versions show up in your WordPress dashboard alongside everything else.

Get your update keys
Your keys are in the Update Keys section of your account dashboard on 99plugs.com. Keep that tab open. You are about to be working in two dashboards at once.
Enter them
- In WordPress, go to Tools → 99Plugs.
- Enter the item name and the update key, exactly as they appear in your Update Keys section.
- Click Activate on that row.
There is no Save button, and that is deliberate. Activate saves the row and activates it in one go. A key sitting in the box without being activated does nothing, so the screen does not offer saving as a separate step.
Copy and paste both fields rather than typing them. If the product is already installed on the site, you will often find its row waiting with the name filled in and locked, in which case the key is all you have to add. If the row is not there, use + Add Key and enter the name yourself.
The row’s status turns to Active and an expiry date appears beside it. That is what a working key looks like, and it is the first thing to check if updates ever stop arriving.
The Update Manager starts checking for updates straight away. When a new version is ready, WordPress offers it to you in the dashboard and you click update, the same as you would for any free plugin.
If you have a VIP Access Pass
One entry covers the whole library. Enter the item name and update key for your pass and every plugin and theme on 99Plugs is enabled for updates, the Update Manager itself included. There is no key to add per item and nothing else to set up.
Use the Have a VIP Access Pass? button at the bottom of the screen rather than typing the row by hand. It knows the exact pass names, and it saves and activates in one step.

If you bought items individually
Each item has its own update key and each one gets its own entry. Add the ones you want updates for.
Including the Update Manager itself. It is an item like any other, it has its own entry in your Update Keys section, and without it the Update Manager never updates itself. This is the step individual buyers miss most often. See Does the Update Manager need its own update key?
Changing or removing a key later
An Active row is locked. The store is holding a site activation against that key, so nothing about the row can change until you click Deactivate on it. Deactivate first, then edit or remove it.
Keys go here, not in the plugin
Your 99Plugs update key goes in the Update Manager. It does not go in a plugin’s own license field. Those fields belong to the developer and have nothing to do with your updates from us.
The exception is the handful of plugins that will not unlock their features until you click Activate, where the field accepts any value. There, use your 99Plugs key so you have one key to keep track of. My plugin or theme is not activating sorts out which is which.
