Installing Elementor Pro

Elementor comes in two pieces. Free Elementor does the building, and Elementor Pro adds the theme builder, the premium widgets, popups and the form widget on top. You need both, and both come with your purchase.

Install

  1. Upload and activate the free Elementor plugin.
  2. Upload and activate Elementor Pro.
  3. Add your update key to the 99Plugs Update Manager so updates keep arriving. See How to enable auto updates.

Elementor Pro on its own does nothing at all. It is an add-on and free Elementor is what it adds to, so if the Pro features are missing this is nearly always the reason. More on that pattern in Why some plugins need the free version installed too.

The Pro template library

Elementor’s Pro template library loads from Elementor’s own servers and needs an active license with them, so it is not available through us.

Everything else in Elementor Pro works: the theme builder, the header and footer builder, the popup builder, the form widget, dynamic content, and the full set of Pro widgets. You can build and save your own templates, and template kits that install as their own plugin work normally.

Known Limitations has the full list of products with a piece like this, and it is a short list.

The connect prompt

Elementor will ask you to connect your Elementor account. You do not need to, and skipping it does not cost you anything except the library above. See My plugin or theme is not activating.
