WPML Media Translation Add-on

WPML Media Translation translates media in two ways. Images, videos and PDFs can carry translated alt text, captions, descriptions and titles alongside your post content, and you can upload a different file per language when the asset itself needs to be localized.

When you send a post for translation, the texts of the embedded media travel with it and are translated in the Translation Editor as part of the post. Two settings under WPML Settings, Media Translation, control this: automatic detection of the best option for translating image texts, and whether Media Library texts are bundled into the post's translation job.

The Media tab inside WPML Translations lists every item in your Media Library with one column per language. Add a translation to upload a different file and edit its texts for that language, such as a regional campaign image or a PDF spec sheet.
