Ultimate Member – Private Messages

Private Messages is an Ultimate Member extension that adds a private messaging system to your site. Users send private messages to each other, one on one.

A message button on each user profile opens a messages modal. A messages tab on each profile lists all conversations, where users read and send messages. Messages refresh automatically and accept emoticons. Plain text is accepted, and URLs turn into links. You can set a maximum number of characters per reply, and show the unread count in your menu with the {new_messages} tag.

You control which user roles can send or receive messages, and you can limit how many new conversations a role starts in a set time. Users choose on their account page whether to receive private messages and e-mail notifications for new conversations. They can also block and unblock other users. It works with Followers, Real-time Notifications and Online users.
