Easy Digital Downloads Fraud Monitor

Fraud Monitor adds fraud monitoring to your Easy Digital Downloads store. Each purchase runs through a series of checks, and anything suspicious is flagged automatically as needing further review.

When a purchase is flagged, an email can go to the site admin and/or the customer to request the information needed to verify it. Once a site manager reviews the purchase, the receipt and download links can be released. If the purchase is confirmed as fraudulent, you can reverse the payment and prevent chargebacks and fraud penalties.

Payments are moderated when an email address matches common fraud patterns, an IP address was already flagged, a purchase comes from a country you identify as high fraud, a product combination is one a typical customer wouldn't buy, a total or item count is unusually high, or a purchase is made outside a certain radius from the billing address. You can also flag a payment manually. Downloads are flagged when the request comes from a high fraud country you identified, or when it comes within 24 hours of purchase from a different country than the purchase.
